Rosh Hashanah Day 1 Services with Rabbi Abigail Treu

Date & Time: Monday, September 30th, 9:30 - 11:30 am
Ritual leadership: Rabbi Abigail Treu, Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan with Ilan Marans and Band
Who will benefit from this experience? Everyone who wants to be in community with children on Rosh Hashanah.
What ritual aspects and environment can I expect? Blowing of the shofar (the horn of a ram or other animal); chanting of the Torah; story-telling and time to reflect on the year that was and the year about to unfold. Services will be a mix of English inspiration and traditional Hebrew prayers. Ilan Marans and band will help set the tone, while participants follow along with words projected on a large screen.

Join us for warm, welcoming, come-as-you-are services led by Rabbi Abigail Treu, director of the Center for Jewish Living and the David H. Sonabend Center for Israel at the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan. Rosh Hashanah is a time of joy at the beginning of a new year as well as introspection as we help one another to become our best selves - in community.
